Ribbon Length Instructions for Gift Boxes

 Go Back
Please note that these instructions apply only to Tuck Top and Wire Handle Gift Boxes where you have the option to select a Ribbon Length.  Ribbon-wrapping length does not apply to Gift Bags, Gable Boxes, or Gusset Boxes since ribbon is simply tied to the packaging handle.

As you design the perfect Gift Box for your occasion or event, you will need to make a specific design decision related to how you'd like to tie or wrap your ribbon on the Tuck Top Box or Wire Handle Box you select.  There are essentially two choices of Ribbon Length you can choose from depending on how you plan to wrap your ribbon:
Note: For Wire Handle Boxes you have a third option called Tied-To-Handle (not shown here) whereby ribbon is cut to length so it can be simply tied to the handle. Choose this option only if you plan not wrap your ribbon around the sides of your box.

Favor Boxes, Gift Boxes, Welcome Boxes

2-sided
- Select this option if you prefer to wrap your ribbon up two sides of your gift box (as depicted in the image to the right), then your ribbon will be provided pre-cut to support this presentation.  This option is offered at no additional charge.

Favor Boxes & Gift Boxes
4-sided - Choose this option if you plan to wrap your ribbon up all sides of your gift box (see example image to the right), then a longer ribbon length will be provided with your order. Also, since your ribbon will wrap up the front of your box, we will NOT pre-adhere your labels to your boxes.  4-sided ribbon wrapping requires you to tie your ribbon first, and then apply your label over the ribbon on the front of your box.

Helpful Hint: Some ribbon types (like Grosgrain Ribbon) are fairly thick in nature and may cause your gift box to not sit flat when placed on a table using the 4-sided ribbon-wrapping option.  This is caused from crossing your ribbon under your box in order to cover all sides.  One way to prevent this from happening is to wrap your ribbon along one direction of your box, cut it to length, and then tape that piece in place on the bottom of the box.  Then wrap the remaining ribbon on the opposite sides and tie a bow on top.  Apply your label to the front and you're all set!  Your box should sit perfectly now.
